Krista Hastings is a young full-lyric operatic soprano, known for her uniquely rich and vibrant tone. She has performed with opera companies throughout the U.S. and Europe. Some of her featured performances include title roles in La Traviata, Into the Woods, La Serva Padrona, Suor Angelica, Marie Begins, Little Women, Die Zauberflöte, and Cendrillon.

As a vocal competitor, Krista was the first-place runner-up in the Eastern National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Artist Awards competition, and won first place in the Eastern Regional NATS, New York NATS, and New Jersey NATS competitions. She also received the Encouragement Award at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition (formerly MET Council Auditions). Krista won the Nebraska District in the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition and was a winner of the John Alexander National Vocal Competition. Additionally, she was the U.S. winner of the International Mozart Competition. She earned her Master of Music in voice performance and pedagogy from Rider University (formerly Westminster Choir College).

As a teacher, Krista works with all ages through her private voice studio and Music University. She has taught a wide range of students, ages 6 to 75, including professionals, students, and avocational singers. Her teaching methodology focuses on building a strong foundation of technique that will last a lifetime and can be utilized across a variety of genres. Furthermore, her goal is to equip her students with the skills and self-awareness to continue developing their voices at home, outside of lessons. She offers musical theater/singing actor programs throughout the year for adolescent singers, featuring shows such as Cinderella, Into the Woods, Once Upon a Mattress, Anastasia, Peanuts, and A Little Princess.
